Latest Updates from Our Project:

STATUS REPORT - 2020.03.26 - The Iron Clays Are At Sea!
13 days ago – Fri, Mar 27, 2020 at 03:43:28 AM

TL;DR: The Iron Clays are finally en route! They are currently scheduled to arrive at all of our fulfillment centres in April. Our schedule currently has these shipping out in May, but border and/or industry delays are still very realistic in all zones.  We are in regular contact with all of our partners, and will continue to keep you updated every two weeks.

We Are Still Moving Forward

Roxley staff are still working from home, and as of this morning, all of our fulfillment partners were still shipping and delivering. In a perfect world, the first shipments of Iron Clays and Spades will begin arriving on people's doorsteps in May; however, delays to this date are unfortunately very realistic.

We are continuing to monitor the news and stay in regular contact with our fulfillment partners in all zones. Disruptions are happening in the industry, and while so far most of them will have little impact on us so far (example: Amazon.com is no longer shipping games, but that doesn't affect us), tomorrow's news is difficult to predict.

We have heard that many EU countries are temporarily halting shipping in the same way that China did, to establish safety and stability while new health protocols are rolled out, and that we should expect to see these restrictions lifted the same way once this is done. (France, we are told, has apparently already lifted theirs. Other countries that were listed include--but may not be limited to--Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy, Poland, and Portugal. )

If your country's border is closed to packages when fulfillment happens, there is no need to stress. Our fulfillment partners will hold your pledge until the restrictions are lifted.

NOTE: If your shipping address is a business, FLGS, or organization that is going to be temporarily closed for social distancing, please message us at ks@roxley.com with a revised name/address/phone number to ship it to (or a request to delay your pledge until you have this information).

Our next update is scheduled for Thursday, April 9th, 2020.

Keep rollin' sixes,

Gavan Brown & Team Roxley

STATUS REPORT - 2020.03.12 - Keeping Our Fingers Crossed (But Washing Them First)
27 days ago – Fri, Mar 13, 2020 at 03:08:33 AM

TL;DR: Despite the disruptions, the Iron Clays & Spades are scheduled to ship soon to fulfillment centres. Cross your fingers and stay healthy, everybody!

Cross Your Fingers!

Our shipping partners currently have our freight scheduled to leave China in four days' time.

Barring further developments, that still puts us on track for April/May fulfillment to customers. We still cannot guarantee that there will not be further disruptions, so we're watching the news, checking in frequently with our shipping partners, saying a prayer, and crossing our fingers.

To do our own small part to help minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19, Team Roxley have cancelled some upcoming events and will be working from home instead. (The majority of our work is computerized, fortunately... we empathize with those who do not have this option.)

We wish all of you safety, good health, and as little disruption as possible to your lives. Wash your hands, stay educated, and be good to any and all who can use your support!

Our next update is scheduled for Thursday, March 26th, 2020.

Keep rollin' sixes,

Gavan Brown & Team Roxley

STATUS REPORT - 2020.02.27 - Freight Dates Still Unconfirmed; ETA April/May.
about 1 month ago – Fri, Feb 28, 2020 at 01:30:16 AM

TL;DR: Freight is moving, but the situation can change quickly; dates cannot be locked in. Our best estimate is that fulfillment will begin in April/May.

Monitoring the Situation

The news from the media and the internet have been all over the place, but we have been in regular contact with our shipping partners and they are reporting that some freight is leaving from ports in China. Many businesses remain closed or understaffed, and the situation is still subject to change without notice, so it is not yet possible to guarantee what the actual fulfillment dates will be.

Having said that, we can make our best estimate. Based on our shipping partners' updates, our fulfillment partners should most likely receive their stock in April. Once this has happened, they will be able to begin fulfillment to backers within 1-2 weeks. (Given the complexity of this campaign, we will not be asking them to rush this process.)

Related Customer Service

If you need to update your address or make other changes to your order because of this delay, we can still assist with this. Please message ks@roxley.com with the details of your request, and we will be happy to help. (Please note that as of this update we are still clearing a backlog of messages, so it may be a few business days before we are able to reply.)

Steampunk Rally Fusion and Gorilla Marketing at Dice Tower West, SaltCon, and GAMA!

Team Roxley couldn't make it to these events this year, unfortunately - but if you run into our friends from Steeped Games (creators of Chai, and the upcoming Chai: Tea For Two), they have brought Gorilla Marketing and an advance prototype of Steampunk Rally Fusion with them!

Visit Steeped Games to check out both their games and ours, at these upcoming events:

Dice Tower West - Feb. 26-Mar. 1 - Las Vegas, NV
SaltCON Spring - Mar. 5-8 - Layton, UT
Game Manufacturers Association Expo - Mar. 9-12, Reno, NV

Steampunk Rally Fusion is a stand-alone game that can be combined with the original Steampunk Rally. It introduces new tracks with unique event cards, new part abilities (Gear Up and Overcharge), and a new card type: Secret Projects. It also debuts new custom dice representing powerful Fusion energy!

Note: the Kickstarter launch of Steampunk Rally Fusion has been delayed to better accommodate reviewer schedules and the three conventions mentioned above. We will be posting a new date soon!

The monkeys have taken over the ad agency!

Gorilla Marketing is a parlour game of naming ridiculous things based on acronyms. Players are out for bananas - naming ridiculous products, companies, movies, etc - and then creating the marketing tag lines for them! Set apart by its unique judging mechanism and beautiful production, Gorilla Marketing will have your game group laughing all night!

Gorilla Marketing will be available at your FLGS, or directly from Roxley, in early March.

Our next update is scheduled for Thursday, March 12th, 2020.

Keep rollin' sixes,

Gavan Brown & Team Roxley

STATUS REPORT - 2020.02.14 - Short Precautionary Delays, Newsletter Update. Happy Valentine's Day!
about 2 months ago – Sat, Feb 15, 2020 at 12:35:11 AM

TL;DR: No shipping is coming out of China. Our shipping partner is estimating a delay of 2-4 weeks.

The Holding Pattern

Team Roxley have been in regular contact with our shipping partners in China, hoping to get a revised timeline for delivery and fulfillment. As of this morning they are still unable to commit to specific dates. Ports are officially supposed to be open next week, but laborers are expected to be in short supply, as there are sections of China with travel bans and quarantines in place, many industries there are partially or completely shut down, and much of the information available is chaotic and contradictory.

When shipments do begin again, there will be massive congestion for skeleton crews to clear, as this has affected shipping across every industry that relies on it. We are being advised not to expect any movement of our stock for at least two weeks. We hope to be able to provide more specifics at that time.

STATUS REPORT - 2020.01.23 - Fulfillment Must Now Begin in March.
3 months ago – Fri, Jan 24, 2020 at 02:17:50 AM

TL;DR: It came down to the wire, but the Iron Clays barely missed getting all the cargo on boats before Chinese New Year.  Fulfillment now scheduled to begin in March 2020.

Missed It By THAT Much.

Sorry about that, Chief.

We came SO close to making this deadline...

All cargo was set to leave China on January 15th.  In order to accomplish this, Roxley and our manufacturing partners worked hard over the holidays and during the first half of January to ensure the Iron Clays left port in China to fulfillment destinations around the world.

As of January 6, we were still on track, but our wooden chest manufacturer ran into a problem where they were shorted 20,000 clays to pack into Iron Clays 200 wooden boxes.   We worked fast to resolve this problem, and had the missing clays arrive at the wooden chest manufacturer on January 12.   The wooden box manufacturer worked diligently to pack the wooden chests as quickly as possible while maintaining strict accuracy standards.   All product was ready for shipment by January 14th.

Unfortunately, we still had to consolidate all of the product from the two factories before shipping (basically gathering them all in one place, and then splitting them up and loading them into containers based on where each shipment needed to go).  Despite everyone's best efforts, this process could not be reduced to less than 2 days' worth of work, which unfortunately landed us on January 16th.

During Chinese New Year, everything shuts down HARD, and thus the Iron Clays & Spades missed shipping out of China by ONE DAY.

Cargo is not expected to resume shipping until February 12th, almost a week beyond our next scheduled update (February 6th). Therefore, we will be moving that update to Thursday, February 13th, to give you the most up-to-date and accurate information possible on delivery time frames for each given shipping zone.

Our best estimate until then is that shipping will begin in March for the USA, the EU, China, and Australia/NZ, with all other zones following very soon afterwards.  We are using this additional time to liaise with our fulfillment partners in each zone, and ensure that we have a solid plan with each of them to ensure fulfillment will go as smoothly and accurately as possible in March.

Every person on our team did our absolute best to meet the CNY deadline, and we apologize for this unfortunate delay.

Customer Service Updates

Many of you have recently sent in requests for changes to your order, address changes, or to double check your pledge. Because our Dice Throne Adventures/Season One Rerolled campaign also just locked down pledges, Paul & Nish have answered hundreds of your messages over the last couple of weeks, and are continuing to do so; thank you for bearing with us as we continue working to clear out the inbox. Here's some of the more common questions we've been receiving for both campaigns, for anyone asking:

Q. If I place a Preorder now, will it still ship at the same time as regular backers? Will I still get everything else that the KS Deluxe version includes?

A. Yes.

Q. I still don't have my survey link. Help! I don't want to miss out!

A. If you've checked your spam/bulk folder and you still can't find it, please email ks@roxley.com to check in; please be sure to include your full name, email address, and Kickstarter username (this has happened to a couple of people who changed email addresses, and it can be hard for us to locate you). We can still send you your link now, and you will still be treated as a regular backer.

(*Note*: if you did not pledge for at least the Upgrades & Add-ons pledge level, then as per the descriptions on the pledge levels on the campaign page, you were not sent a survey link. You can however place a Preorder now, and as above, you won't miss out on first wave shipping or any of the Kickstarter content and components.  We will credit your pledge towards such a Preorder.)

Q. I need to update my shipping address (or to double check to make sure it's correct).

A. You should be able to double check it (and may be able to change it yourself) via your original survey link from BackerKit. If this doesn't work (or you can't find it), please message the correct address to ks@roxley.com and we can do it for you.

Q. My order's locked down, but I want to make a change. How do I do this?

A. To add something to your order, message ks@roxley.com; if you specify what you want and authorize us to add it to your card on file, we should be able to process it immediately without any further back-and-forth. This is also how to request a change that doesn't affect the dollar value of your pledge (example - changing which sleeves you want in a Build-Your-Own-Bank pledge). For any change that involves a partial refund, there may be an extra step or two involved; please message ks@roxley.com with the details. (Note that for any cancellation at this stage, Roxley is still required to pay Kickstarter and BackerKit a percentage of the pledge, so we will only be able to issue a partial refund).

Q. I emailed ks@roxley.com (or messaged via Kickstarter) X days ago, but I haven't heard back yet. How long should I wait before worrying?

A. You're almost certainly fine. The truth is, we are further behind than we want to be, and we apologize for having to ask you to be patient. Paul & Nish have responded to hundreds of messages in the last two weeks, and we are prioritizing Kickstarter customer service, but there are hundreds more to answer. Paul's goal is to get that queue below four days' worth by the weekend, so if your message is a week or more old on Monday, something might have happened to it; please double check by emailing ks@roxley.com. (We process emails slightly faster than Kickstarter DMs, and a LOT faster than things like Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

Q. I have a question not covered here.

A. Please send it to ks@roxley.com.

As always, we thank everyone in the community for helping each other out with questions and requests whenever they can.

Our next update is now scheduled for Thursday, February 13th, 2020.

Keep rollin' sixes,

Gavan Brown & Team Roxley
